SINGAPORE: Polytechnic graduates in full-time permanent employment last year enjoyed a S$50 increase in starting pay, compared with their seniors in 2012. This is according to a survey of 14,339 fresh graduates and post-National Service (NS) graduates from the five polytechnics in Singapore. Their median gross monthly salary last year was S$2,000. 62.7 per cent surveyed were in full-time permanent employment, down from 65.4 per cent in 2012. Overall, 89.8 per cent were employed by October, down from 91 per cent in 2012. Full-time permanent employment also fell among post-NS graduates at 74.2 per cent, compared to nearly 77.8 per cent in 2012.
